Regions is providing Habitat with the office space through the
donation of its 720-square-foot former drive-up branch location at
909 Woodlawn Road. The bank will turn over the building keys to
Habitat officials during a ribbon-cutting ceremony set for Thursday
at 2 p.m. at the Woodlawn site. "For more than two decades,
Habitat for Humanity has been committed to building homes and
providing a safe haven for local families," said Pat Dienslake, city
president of Regions' central Illinois market. "When the opportunity
to provide this organization with its very first home presented
itself, we jumped at the chance. We consider it a perfect way to
fulfill Regions' mission to make life better for the communities we
serve."
Habitat for Humanity was equally pleased when the bank reached
out to them regarding the donation.
"We celebrate this gift," said Toni Reifsteck, past board chair
for the Logan County affiliate. "To have this space means so much to
our more than 100 volunteers who drive all of our efforts."
Habitat will use the newly acquired site to coordinate its
recycling fundraising initiative, provide meeting space for its
program volunteers and board of directors, and store agency records.
The Woodlawn facility will provide a home base to an agency that has
been dedicated to constructing homes for others in Logan County
since 1989.

Habitat will conduct its next house blessing July 18, when it
turns over the keys to a local family in Elkhart. The Elkhart home
is the 14th home the Logan County affiliate has erected or
rehabilitated. Work is already under way on the affiliate's 15th
home, located in Lincoln.
