Senior Legion wins 1st game in district tourney

[July 16, 2010]  PONTIAC -- On Thursday, Lincoln's Senior Legion team traveled to Pontiac for the first game of the best-of-three district series. Lincoln came out victorious 15-10. Joey Burge picked up the pitching victory, going six innings and giving up one earned run.

Lincoln was led in hitting by Trent Gardner with a home run, two doubles and a single; Joel Ritchhart with a home run and three singles; Bryce Hunsley with a home run and a double; Jason O'Brien with a double and a single; Cory Yeazle with a double and a single; and Dalton Johnson with a double.

Lincoln plays Pontiac today (Friday) at the Rec Center in the second game of the series. Game time is 6:30 p.m.

If Lincoln wins, they will advance to the division tourney in Champaign next week.
