Lincoln Corn Maze now open

[July 24, 2010]  Jill Peck and her four children -- Caleb, James, Jordan and Benjamin -- officially opened the Lincoln Corn Maze for business yesterday afternoon.

The maze just north of Lincoln isn't hard to find, and looking at all the time put into making the area a fun place for the entire family, it looks like a short drive is well worth the time and money.

The principal feature of the business is the maze, and visitors can navigate their way through this amazing corn maze, featuring a giant image of a hot-air balloon with a picture of our 16th president christening the city of Lincoln with watermelon juice.

Choose your own strategy for exploration:

  • Follow the fascinating Lincoln trivia clues as your guide.

  • Maneuver your way through the maze using your own sense of direction.

  • Stroll at your leisure through the tall corn maze, directed by the convenient map.

You also can explore the 7-acre corn maze by daylight, moonlight or flashlight.

There's more too. You can enjoy a free hayride and visit the you-pick watermelon, sweet corn and pumpkin patches.

You can also test your skill at hitting the bull's-eye with the "Giant Water Balloon Slingshot" for a chance to win a fee soda.

Challenge a friend to an exciting race through the "Amazing Rope Maze" or discover your creative side as you make your own scarecrow or paint your own pumpkin. There is also free use of the children's straw maze and corn "sandbox" as well as a free petting zoo.

Admission prices for the corn maze are:

  • Children 3 and under -- free

  • Ages 4-11 -- $5

  • Ages 12 and up -- $7

  • Family rate per household -- $40

Form of payment: Cash

Group discounts are available, and today (Saturday) there is $1 off each ticket.
