Water shut-off prevention assistance available to residents

[July 28, 2010]  The Salvation Army of Logan County is the agent for Illinois American Water for the H2O Help to Others program in Logan County.

InsuranceIndividuals or families who are residents of Logan County and who are facing shut-off of their water service due to financial hardship may apply for supplemental assistance to help pay their water bills.

Household eligibility is determined through the application process, which is available at The Salvation Army Keest Center, 307 N. Kickapoo St. in Lincoln. Program assistance may not cover a recipient's entire water bill. H2O Help to Others assistance is available only to customers with Illinois American Water residential accounts in their own names, not for third parties.

To obtain more information on the H2O Help to Others Program in Logan County or to schedule an appointment at the Keest Center, call 217-732-7890.
