[June 04, 2010]  NEW YORK (AP) -- More than a decade after its acclaimed run on Broadway, Matthew Bourne's all-male "Swan Lake" is returning to New York.

Bourne's reinterpretation of the classic Russian ballet, which he directed and choreographed, will play in a limited engagement Oct. 13-Nov. 7 at New York City Center.

Its first incarnation arrived on Broadway in 1998 and won three Tony awards for direction of a musical, choreography and costume design.

Bourne's "Swan Lake" has since toured worldwide, and current productions continue to play throughout the United Kingdom and in Asia.

In a statement, Bourne said he has never stopped working on "Swan Lake," and that he was "truly excited" to bring "the power and the majesty of our now famous male swans" back to New York.
