The frontage of the Scully Building in downtown Lincoln is getting a major overhaul this week. The entire renovation is an approved historic preservation project with the National Park Service. The storefront will be reconstructed to match the same view and profile as the one being removed, to retain the historical appearance of the building. It will take several days to carefully remove the existing glass and then replace it with new frames and energy-efficient glass. Picture by Mike Fak (Click on picture for larger image.) |
