The Mount Pulaski Community Band started their annual summer concert series on Wednesday at the new bandstand on the Mount Pulaski Courthouse lawn. David Helm is substituting for Harry Hild as conductor of this excellent group. They played for one full hour. Some of their arrangements were "Spoon River Saga," "Can't Help Falling in Love," "Kentucky 1800," "Broadway Journey," "Blue Ridge Overture," "Colonel Bogey," "'50s Melody" and the "Coast Guard March."

The evening started with our national anthem.

There were 16 musicians, but a few more are needed, especially a snare drummer, a few
trombone players as well as another tuba player.

Harry Hild, the regular conductor, is recovering from leg surgery, and David Helm is substituting. Helm is the choir and instrumental instructor at Mount Pulaski Grade School and High School.

Please contact Helm if you can join this wonderful group, which is made up of musicians from in and around Mount Pulaski.
