[June 18, 2010]  SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- An attorney named to oversee Gary Coleman's estate says the late actor has been cremated.

Attorney Robert Jeffs has released a statement saying Coleman's remains were cremated at 5:15 p.m. Thursday at a mortuary in Sandy, a Salt Lake City suburb.

The statement says the cremation was conducted in accordance with Coleman's wishes that there be no funeral or other ceremony to mark his passing.

Coleman died at the age of 42 on May 28 after suffering a brain hemorrhage. His cremation had been on hold because of legal wrangling over his assets. Coleman's ex-girlfriend and ex-wife both contend they are the lawful administrators of his estate.

Jeffs has said Coleman's ashes and property will be securely stored until a final determination is made on an estate executor. It's a decision Jeffs said could take months.
