Moose decides to take dip at beach in Maine

[June 26, 2010]  YORK, Maine (AP) -- A moose took a dip in the Maine surf on Friday, running past a surfer and delighting beachgoers.

 Beachgoers said the moose then ran into the bushes along a bluff at Long Sands Beach in southern Maine. Police said they received many reports of moose sightings on Friday.

Police told the Portsmouth Herald that after stopping at Long Sands Beach, the moose was spotted on Nubble peninsula and in the water at Shores Sands Beach before heading north.
