[June 25, 2010]  Lincoln College has appointed Susan Hoblit to its board of trustees. Her term will end in 2013.

An alumna of Lincoln College, Hoblit is an interior designer. She is the owner of an interior and commercial design firm in Atlanta and maintains affiliations with the National Council for Interior Design Qualifications, the National Association of Professional Organizers and the Logan County Master Gardener Association.

She is the descendent of some of the earliest settlers in Logan County. Her grandfather John Hoblit was a friend of Abraham Lincoln and offered him lodging as he rode the 8th Judicial Circuit.

A lifelong resident of rural Illinois, Ms. Hoblit is passionate about giving back to the community. In addition to volunteering her time as a court-appointed special advocate, she also serves on the board of trustees for the Illinois Prairie Community Foundation.

When announcing her appointment to the board of trustees, Lincoln College President John Hutchinson described her as "a perfect choice for the position."

"Susan’s business leadership, philanthropic spirit and advocacy for young people are well known," he said. "Coupled with her love of the community, vast knowledge of both Logan County and Lincoln College history, as well as her passion for student success, she is a natural fit for the role of trustee."

More information on the college is available at www.lincolncollege.edu.
