City to begin spraying tonight

[June 29, 2010]  The street department will spray downtown Lincoln for weeds Tuesday and Wednesday nights from midnight to 8 a.m., weather permitting. If it is too windy or it rains, the spraying will be pushed back a day.

Starting Wednesday and Thursday, the street department will spray for mosquitoes from 7 to 11 p.m., weather permitting. This will be done each week until it is no longer needed. The street department continues to check larva populations throughout the city.

Residents are asked to try to remove the threat of mosquitoes from their property by making sure there is no standing water in buckets, cans or similar items. Change birdbath water every other day and remove any tall weeds you may have. Feel free to call the street department for more information.

If you have any questions about the spraying, please call the street department at 732-4655 between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
