[June 30, 2010]  County Highway 10, or 700th Street, between Elkhart and Mount Pulaski will be closed in the near future to replace a box culvert. The exact starting date has not been determined, but construction is scheduled to begin this summer and is expected to take two months to complete. During that time, the roadway will be completely closed to traffic.

The project is located one mile east of Elkhart. The box culvert needs to be replaced due to the deteriorated condition of the concrete.

Additional information will be available in the next few weeks when a start date has been determined.

Logan County is using federal funds from the Highway Bridge Program to complete this construction. The project was awarded to Otto Baum Company in Morton. The construction cost is approximately $275,305.

The highway department always appreciates cooperation and patience by the public during the construction season as the department continues to improve the safety of roads and bridges.
