A high pressure system was meanwhile expected to provide yet more dry conditions in the East, except for some isolated showers in the Ohio Valley.
In the West, a Pacific storm system was forecast to push into the Northwest, bringing rain and high elevation snow from
northern California through the Northwest and Intermountain West.
Low humidity was expected to produce dangerous fire weather in the Southeast.
Temperatures in the Northeast were forecast in the 30s and 40s, while the Southeast was expected to see temperatures in the 40s and 50s. Temperatures in the 40s and 50s were likely in the Northwest, while the
northern Plains were to see temperatures in the 30s.
Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Sunday ranged from a low of 7 degrees at Gunnison, Colo., to a high of 81 degrees at Pecos, Texas.
