[March 16, 2010]  NEW YORK (AP) -- The Museum of Modern Art in New York City is re-enacting a performance artist's works including one in which two people in the nude stand still, facing each other in a narrow doorway.

The exhibit featuring the works of Yugoslavian-born artist Marina Abramovic opened Sunday.

Elsewhere in the exhibit, two clothed people touch fingertips, two others sit back to back with their hair entwined and a naked woman reclines with a skeleton lying on top of her. All the performers are statue-still.

The 63-year-old Abramovic is a performance art grande dame who has pushed the limits of physical endurance since the late 1960s.

The New York Times has called the exhibit uneven but rarely uninteresting. It continues through May 31.
