MTI, a Lincoln and Mount Pulaski-based fourth-grade team, won the "Paoli Shootout" over the weekend in French Lick, Ind. The team went 6-0, defeating Spring Valley, Larry Bird's alma mater, in the championship game. MTI plays the familiar 1-2-2 half-court trap defense, but this was a ?man-to-man defense?-only tournament. Upon hearing that MTI normally plays a zone, one Indiana coach remarked, ?'Zone' is a four-letter word in these parts.?
