[March 30, 2010]  LOS ANGELES (AP) -- A producer being sued by Farrah Fawcett's estate is firing back, claiming the actress' estate is being mishandled.

Craig Nevius' response to the suit filed last week claims the trustee of Fawcett's estate is delaying paying beneficiaries, including the actress' father.

Fawcett's estate sued Nevius in January, claiming he botched a documentary project and embezzled some of Fawcett's money.

The response claims Fawcett's assets are being used to improperly pursue the lawsuit against Nevius, who sued Fawcett's longtime companion Ryan O'Neal and friend Alana Stewart last year over a documentary that aired on NBC.

Howard Weitzman, who represents the estate and is defending O'Neal and Stewart in a related lawsuit, says the allegations are "spurious and outrageous."
