The report is to arrive in the mail this week. Residences and
businesses in Logan County as well as those in nearby Greenview,
Mason City, Easton, Armington and Waynesville can expect to receive
a copy. In-depth stories in the report feature local veterinarian
Dr. Ron Pierce's excellent rehabilitation that got him back to work
at his clinic, and Seth Alsup and his amazing recovery after the
quick actions of health care workers in ALMH's emergency department.
New technology with a tremendous impact on patient safety is
highlighted, as well as the new hospital's capabilities to make
patient experiences even better in 2011.
"Our focus throughout 2010 continued to be preserving our mission
and putting patient care above all else," said Dolan Dalpoas,
president and chief executive officer of ALMH. "At the heart of
every story in our annual report is a cohesive team of health care
workers, volunteers and physicians that is dedicated to improving
health."
The report highlights the $4.2 million of donations ALMH made to
the community in the form of unpaid costs of public programs,
traditional charity care, and various health prevention and
education initiatives.
Included is a donor stewardship report from the Abraham Lincoln
Healthcare Foundation, including a special recognition of major
benefactors and a listing of all donors making gifts in 2009. For
the first time, those who have contributed to the Preserve the
Mission campaign are named in a special section.
"We are so appreciative of our donors, who understand that
community support of our mission is critical," says Marty Ahrends,
executive director of the Abraham Lincoln Healthcare
Foundation. "Thanks to their loyal support and all the additional
donations during our Preserve the Mission campaign, ALHF can provide
community scholarships, fund special programs and purchase
technology to benefit ALMH."

Also included in the annual report are examples of new
technologies and procedures that aim to make patients' time at ALMH
more efficient, convenient and safe. And there are examples of how
employees continue to go above and beyond to deliver the best in
patient care.
"We are proud of our affiliation with Memorial Health System and
our performance in 2009," Dalpoas said. "But we continue to strive
to improve so that we can achieve our vision to become a national
leader for excellence in patient care. With our new hospital set to
open in early 2011, we are committed to preserving our mission for
generations to come."
The annual report can also be downloaded at
www.almh.org, the hospital's Web
site. Anyone who does not receive a copy of the annual report in
their mail can call 217-732-5068 or send an e-mail to
info@almh.org to request one.
