DirecTV, Yes to air Major League Baseball in 3-D

[May 06, 2010]  NEW YORK (AP) -- DirecTV and the Yes Network are planning to televise what they say will be the first Major League Baseball games in 3-D.

The New York Yankees vs. Seattle Mariners games on July 10 and 11 will be aired in New York, Connecticut, Washington, Oregon, Alaska and parts of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Montana and Idaho.

The games will air at 10 p.m. EDT on July 10 and 4 p.m. EDT on July 11 from Safeco Field in Seattle.

Only viewers with 3-D TV sets will be able to watch in 3-D, but the games will be available in high-definition as well.

Yes Network is a regional sports channel that airs New York Yankees and New Jersey Nets games, college games and other programming.
