Resolution recognizing LCHS group interpretation team

[May 06, 2010]  Below is a copy of a Logan County Board resolution recognizing the Lincoln Community High School group interpretation team:

WHEREAS, Lincoln Community High School has a strong tradition of excelling at speech and drama events, and

WHEREAS, Group Interpretation competition includes acting, singing and choreography, with students interpreting a piece of literature in a 30-minute time constraint, and

WHEREAS, Group Interpretation helps students develop speaking skills, responsibility, professionalism and sportsmanship, all skills they will need to get and keep a good job in the future, and

WHEREAS, Group Interpretation is truly about teamwork, as the students spend hours perfecting their performance, and

WHEREAS, the LCHS Group Interpretation Team participated in the Illinois High School Association's State Group Interpretation Competition at the University of Illinois at Springfield, March 26 and 27, 2010 as one of the top 18 teams in the State, and

WHEREAS, LCHS students Lorenda Kirby and Katy Langdon were chosen for the All-State Cast for Group Interpretation,

NOW THEREFORE IT BE RESOLVED that the Logan County Board congratulates Group Interpretation cast members Ryan Brown, Lorenda Kirby, Samuel Filbeck, Jarrod Grover, Katy Langdon, Matthew Mason, Tegan Follis, Sara Buchanan, Rachel Skelton, Kaylee McAllister, Shelby Voiles and Morgan Conrady, along with director Jennifer Keith, assistant directors Betsy Buttell and Cody Follis and student director Jordan Vermeire, and wishes them continued success in their scholastic careers.

Adopted by resolution of the Logan County Board on April 20, 2010.
