Saturday afternoon the 2010 graduating class of Lincoln College made history as the first class to have their commencement ceremonies in the new Lincoln Center.
The afternoon was a pageant of ceremony as more than 180 graduates donned the royal purple to commemorate and celebrate the passing of another phase of their adulthood.
After presentation of an honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts to Dionne Warwick came the presentation of diplomas to the graduates.

With hundreds of chairs on the floor and bleachers on both sides, the gymnasium turned commencement hall was packed with friends and family of the graduates.

The procession began with the presentation of colors.

In caps and gowns all alike, some students chose to personalize their look with "subtle" accessories.

With approximately 180 graduates in the Class of 2010, the front, right side of the hall was a sea of royal purple.

After the invocation, college president John Hutchinson welcomed the audience. Later he would speak to the graduates directly and comment on his own departure from Lincoln College.

Class of 2010 graduate Mubeen Kahn delivered the student address, lacing her speech with tales of watching the construction of the new Lincoln College Complex out her dorm room window and challenging graduates to never forget their legacy at the college but to take it with them into the future.
