[November 08, 2010]  ROCKLAND, Maine (AP) -- An online auction of museum-quality art works will benefit a Maine museum's $12 million endowment campaign to sustain the artistic legacy of the late Andrew Wyeth.

HardwareThe Farnsworth Art Museum in Rockland says the auction begins Monday and continues through Nov. 29. Adelson Galleries in New York City is hosting the auction on its http://www.adelsongalleries.com/ website, with works donated by artists, collectors and philanthropists who are interested in sustaining the museum's mission.

Proceeds from the auction will support of operation of the Farnsworth facilities devoted to the Maine-related work of Andrew Wyeth, as well as that of his father, N.C., and son Jamie.

Wyeth, whose work focused on coastal Maine and Pennsylvania's Brandywine Valley, died in January 2009 at the age of 91.
