The filing period for
this year will begin at 9 a.m. Nov. 15 and run through Nov. 22.
This year there are seven city council seats up for grabs, as five
are up for four-year terms and two are up for two-year terms.
In Ward 1 the seat currently held by Stacy Bacon will be
available for a two-year term as will the seat currently held by Tom
O'Donohue in Ward 4.
The other five seats available are four-year terms currently held
by Melody Anderson in Ward 1; Kathy Horn, Ward 2; Joni Tibbs, Ward
3; Buzz Busby, Ward 4; and Jeff Hoinacki in Ward 5.
Petitions and candidate guides may be obtained in the city
clerk's office at City Hall or downloaded from the State Board of
Elections website and should be returned to the clerk's office once
all requirements are completed.
There is also a link to the State Board of Elections from the
city website.
Late filings will be rejected, so prospective candidates should
be certain that they file in a timely manner.
Candidates will then be placed on the ballot for the Feb. 22
primary election.
