The Ball Brothers will be in concert at the
Mt. Pulaski Christian Church Family Life Center Saturday,
November 20th at 7 PM. No tickets are required. There will
be a free will offering taken. It will be a wonderful
Christmas event to cap off Christmas on Vinegar Hill.
The Salvation
Army will be providing a congregate meal on Thanksgiving
Day, at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Limit Street in east
Lincoln. In collaboration with the staff of the Oasis
Senior Center, The Salvation Army will seat 300 people for
this holiday meal, reaching out especially to seniors,
grandparents caring for grandchildren, veterans, physically
and mentally disabled adults and single parents unable to be
with other family members for the Thanksgiving Holiday. We
are looking forward to serving many who would otherwise be
home alone, unable to celebrate the holiday with others.
Doors will
open for diners at 12:30 pm and the meal will be served at
1:00 pm.
There are
multiple opportunities for volunteers to serve for 2-3 hour
shifts in setup and meal preparation on Thanksgiving
morning, as well as for the mid-day meal service and later
for cleanup (2:30-4:00 pm). Members of the community (this
may be individuals, families or small groups) interested in
volunteering on Thanksgiving Day are encouraged to contact
The Salvation Army at (217) 732-7890.
New Beginnings Thrift Shoppe is partnering with Fresh
Start Ministries here in Lincoln to raise money to help
in needy families purchase food for Thanksgiving this year.
I have attached information on the event and both
ministries. The event starts the 25th of October.
If you have any questions you can stop by the shop or call
