West Lincoln-Broadwell baseball season ends

[October 04, 2010]  EAST PEORIA -- West Lincoln-Broadwell's baseball season came to an end as they were defeated by the eventual 1A state champions, Ottawa Marquette Academy, 11-0, in state quarterfinal play on Friday in East Peoria.

InsuranceThe Wolverines managed just one hit in the game, a single by Brayden Curry. Payton Ebelherr took his first loss of the year on the mound (8-1), pitching three innings, allowing two earned runs and striking out three.

Marquette Academy won three consecutive games in the tournament to take the state championship, outscoring their three opponents 30-1.

WL-B finished the season with a 15-5 record, winning county, regional and sectional championships!
