Can you name your favorite
1970s song from the American rock band Steely Dan? Is it
"Reeling in the Years," "Rikki Don't Lose That Number," "Josie" or
"Peg"? If you are a Steely Dan fan, come out to the next home
football game on Friday and listen to the LCHS Marching Railers
perform their routine to all four songs at halftime.
The Marching Railers, under the direction of David Swaar and drum
major Katy Langdon, have competed at three competitions this
season.
At the Dwight Harvest Days the band won awards for best drum line,
best color guard and first in class.
On Sept. 25, the band traveled to the Mount Zion competition, where
they were unable to march their routine due to the abundance of
rain. Despite the weather, the band performed their music in the gym
and came home with a first-in-class award.
This past weekend the
band competed at the Olympia Marching Band Invitational. At this
invitational Lincoln was competing in Class 2A against three
other schools. Once again the Marching Railers came home with a
first place in their class and best drum line.
The band boosters and parents congratulate all of the
band members, color guard, drum major and band director.
The band
will be performing at Metamora on Saturday in Class 3A competition against five other schools. Come out and support the
Marching Railers at a home football game or a competition.
