Robert Jeckel of Lincoln received the Farm Mutual Director Certification designation earlier this month during the 115th annual convention of the National Association of Mutual Insurance Cos. Jeckel serves as a director for Frontier Mutual Insurance Co. of Lincoln.

The insurance association launched the Farm Mutual Directors Certification program in 2007 to recognize farm mutual insurance company directors for their educational accomplishment and their dedication to professionalism. To become a certified farm mutual director, participants must be an active director of a farm mutual company, complete four courses from each of three areas -– management, operations and insurance, and finance and accounting -- and complete continuing education classes to maintain their designation.

Since the beginning of the program, more than 1,150 directors have enrolled and 190 have become certified.
