The volunteer group came together to tackle beautification projects
around Lincoln. This is the group that painted the new traffic light
bases downtown, painted rails used by the handicapped, organized the
artwork displays in downtown windows, trimmed suckers from trees,
spruced up the Shay parking lot and did so much more prior to this
year's Lincoln Art & Balloon Festival and since. For the tulip
project, the group is especially hoping to gain interest from the
community to plant the corners of the main streets through town,
such as Logan, Broadway, Kickapoo, Fifth Street and Woodlawn. They
would also love to see tulips planted in our city parks. They have
hopes of churches, schools and others getting involved.
The group has secured tulip bulbs for the price of $15 for 100
and is making them available to residents, businesses and
organizations. Bulbs can be purchased and planted by the purchaser
or purchased and planted by volunteers.
For an application form for bulbs,

form also includes a place to volunteer to plant bulbs.
There has been a positive response to date. Even a Brownie troop
has volunteered to plant bulbs.
