Instead, Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn and Republican challenger Bill
Brady exchanged insults Sunday night about ties to ex-Gov. Rod
Blagojevich and questions of honesty. Quinn accused the longtime
state senator from Bloomington of hiding his business affairs,
though he didn't cite what he believed Brady was holding back.
Brady pointed out that when Quinn was lieutenant governor, he
vouched for the Blagojevich's honesty.
When pressed on their plans to close the budget deficit, both
were vague about where they would cut spending. Quinn defended his
call for increasing income taxes by 33 percent.
