[October 23, 2010]  NEW YORK (AP) -- The well-reviewed play "Brief Encounter" will be sticking around a bit more on Broadway.

The Roundabout Theatre Company is extending the show for an additional four weeks. Now it will end its run on Jan. 2.

Hardware"Brief Encounter" combines elements of Noel Coward's screenplay, and the one-act play on which it was based, with song, dance and multimedia effects.

Emma Rice, who adapted the movie for stage and directed, has stayed mostly faithful to the story of two married, middle-aged British upper-crusters who meet at a train station and are soon smitten.
