1 woman, 2 kids shot and killed in Chicago suburb

[October 25, 2010]  HARVEY (AP) -- Three people were shot to death in a suburban Chicago apartment, including a 17-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl.

Authorities said the boy, the girl and a 28-year-old woman were killed Sunday night. A 4-year-old boy also was shot, but police say he is in stable condition at a nearby hospital.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's office has not released their identities.

The Chicago Tribune reports that police in Harvey say they are questioning the woman's partner, but that he is not considered a suspect. The 17-year-old boy was the partner's son and the 9-year-old was the woman's daughter.

Police spokeswoman Sandra Alvarado says there was no forced entry in the home, suggesting that the gunman knew the family.
