Friday afternoon, students at
Central School in Lincoln were treated to a magic show as they
wrapped up their Red Ribbon Week observance.
Magician Richard Landry performed first at Northwest School in the
morning, then at Central in the afternoon.
Landry incorporates age-appropriate motivational presentations with
his magic. For this show the emphasis was on living a drug-free
life.
The 218 students at Central range in age from kindergarten to fifth
grade. For their last day of Red Ribbon Week, kids wore red.
According to Ribbon Week coordinator and teacher Kendall Martin,
children dressed in special ways each day of the week as part of the
fun of learning to be drug-free.

Landry's rabbit Snowball went on vacation, so
Landry used a drawing on a cloth as a substitute for his pet.

But with assistance from this young man,
Snowball literally appeared out of nowhere inside his custom-made
"shower."

Throughout the show, the kids were amazed by
all that Landry showed them and very responsive to all he had to
say about staying drug-free. |
