[September 10, 2010]  NEW YORK (AP) -- Many people interested in buying 3-D television sets are less interested after they try them.

InsuranceThat's one result of a study conducted by The Nielsen Co. for the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing.

A little more than half of the people who experienced 3-D TV found it a better experience than they expected.

However, the percentage who said they remained interested in buying a 3-D TV over the next year went down after they were brought in to test them.

One barrier that would have to be overcome: the expense and relative paucity of 3-D programming available.

Most important, a majority taking the survey cited 3-D glasses as a reason for staying away. Nine in 10 people say the glasses would significantly constrain their ability to multitask while watching TV.
