[September 10, 2010]  NEW YORK (AP) -- CBS News says its former weatherman Mark McEwen will return to "The Early Show" for his first nationally televised weathercast since a near-fatal stroke five years ago.

The network says McEwen's visit Saturday will include an interview focusing on his difficult recovery.

McEwen worked for CBS for 15 years as a weatherman and features reporter.

In 2004, he became a news anchor at the CBS station in Orlando, Fla., where he was working when he suffered the stroke in November 2005.

McEwen wrote about his ordeal in his book "After the Stroke: My Journey Back to Life." He turns 56 next week.
