[September 10, 2010]  Lincoln Christian University has named Brent Messimer as its men's soccer coach.

Born in Belgium of missionary parents and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, Messimer was introduced to and fell in love with the game of soccer in primary school, where he learned of the "community found within a team, both on and off the field."

Messimer hopes to instill this relationship among the young men who will be representing the LCU Red Lions.

The new coach played soccer four years at Central Christian College of the Bible in Moberly, Mo., from 1999 to 2003, and has been a coach for third- and fourth-graders in the LCU Saturday indoor soccer league.
