Lincoln motorists not belted: get ticketed

[September 09, 2010]  Lincoln motorists going eastbound on Fifth Street Friday morning found themselves being stopped by authorities conducting a roadside check of motorists and their vehicles.

InsuranceAccording to Lincoln Police Chief Ken Greenslate:

"On September 3rd, the Lincoln Police Department and the Illinois State Police conducted a joint seatbelt enforcement program on 5th Street in Lincoln. The program resulted in 42 seatbelt citations, 4 no proof of insurance citations, 2 arrests for outstanding warrants, and 1 arrest for driving with a suspended license."
