LCHS woods and drafting
students took part in a bridge building competition to see whose
bridge design and fabrication could withstand the most weight (in
pounds).
Each student was given 12 sticks, 12 inches long, for a total of 144 inches. All 144
inches had to be used in the bridge parameters of
14 inches long by 4 inches tall by 3 inches wide. Joe Mangano came in
at first place with a
total of 295 pounds. Second place was Kevin Chi holding 200 pounds, and
third
place was Lacey Green with 165 pounds.
