[September 15, 2010]  NEW YORK (AP) -- A David Foster Wallace novel set in an Internal Revenue Service office in Illinois will be issued posthumously next April 15, Tax Day.

"The Pale King" was unfinished when the author committed suicide two years ago at age 46. It was edited by Little, Brown and Co. publisher Michael Pietsch (peech).

Little, Brown announced the release Tuesday.

Wallace was known for his epic 1996 novel "Infinite Jest" and for the story collections "Brief Interviews with Hideous Men" and "Oblivion."

"Infinite Jest" cemented Wallace's reputation as a major American literary figure. The 1,000-plus-page tome was praised for its complexity and dark wit. Time magazine named it in its issue of the "100 Best English-language Novels from 1923 to 2005."
