Sunday to be 'Dick Logan Day' in Lincoln

[September 15, 2010]  The city of Lincoln has officially proclaimed Sunday as "Dick Logan Day" in Lincoln.

Proclamation
City of Lincoln, Illinois

WHEREAS, Richard "Dick" Logan was born and raised in Lincoln and has dedicated his life to serving the people of Lincoln and Logan County; and

WHEREAS, Dick owned and operated his Auto Care Center for 37 years, providing a place for not only vehicles to get repaired, but for good conversation to flow; and

WHEREAS, Dick served this community and his church in numerous ways, including as a member of the Carroll Catholic School Board and as Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus; and

WHEREAS, Dick proudly served this county as a 14-year member of the Logan County Board, spending time on countless committees and commissions, eventually serving as Logan County Board Chairman; and

WHEREAS, Dick has suffered some health setbacks that have led him to spend recuperative time with family who provide loving care and support; and

WHEREAS, Dick's many friends and colleagues have planned a benefit to be held on Sunday, September 19, 2010, as a tribute to Dick and to assist him and his family with medical expenses; and

WHEREAS, the City of Lincoln has been blessed by Dick's leadership and service and wishes to appropriately express to him our appreciation and most sincere hopes for continued strengthening and improvement in his health.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY PROCLAIMED by Keith Snyder, Mayor of Lincoln, that Sunday, September 19, 2010 shall be "Dick Logan Day" in the City of Lincoln, Illinois in celebration of Dick's friendship, devotion, and dedication to the people of Lincoln and Logan County; and be it further

PROCLAIMED, that the people of Lincoln join me in extending to Dick Logan and his family our gratitude for his years of public service and our best wishes for a memorable and successful benefit on Sunday.
