Grains futures mostly drop, livestock prices mixed

[September 24, 2010]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Grain futures mostly fell Thursday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for December delivery tumbled 22.5 cents to $6.9725 a bushel; December corn dropped 5.75 cents to $4.9925 bushel; December oats fell 6 cents to $3.38 a bushel; while soybeans for November delivery gained 5 cents to $10.935 a bushel.

Beef and pork futures traded mixed on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

December live cattle edged up 0.05 cent to 98.25 cents a pound; November feeder cattle added 0.15 cent to $1.0985 a pound; December lean hogs slid 0.30 cent to 76.02 cents a pound; while February pork bellies were flat at $1.0850 a pound.
