The West Lincoln-Broadwell (15-4) junior high baseball team defeated Morton Bethel Union 4-2 on Saturday in the Hartsburg-Emden Sectional and punched their ticket to the 2010 IESA Class 1A Boys State Baseball Finals next weekend, Oct. 1-2. They advance to play Ottawa Marquette at noon Friday at EastSide Centre in East Peoria.

Brock Byrge and Payton Ebelherr combined on the mound to limit Morton to three singles, with Ebelherr (8-0) getting the win, striking out nine batters in five innings of work.

Kyle Fitzpatrick led Wolverine hitters with two singles. Ebelherr, Byrge, Brayden Curry and Jordan Yarcho (two RBIs) also had hits for WL-B.
