Police: 3 dead, 2 hurt in Boston shooting

[September 28, 2010]  BOSTON (AP) -- Boston's police commissioner says three people have been killed and two others, including a young child, injured in an early morning shooting.

Commissioner Edward Davis says police responded to the city's Mattapan neighborhood just after 1 a.m. on Tuesday.

Two men and one woman were pronounced dead at the scene. Davis says another man and the child were taken to the hospital in critical condition.

No names were released and there were no arrests.

Davis says investigators think the victims knew the shooter and is appealing to the public for help in apprehending the suspect.
