South Korean bicyclist gets warm welcome in Lincoln [April 02, 2011]  There are many people who like to ride their bicycles on long trips, but Keonwoo Lee from South Korea is definitely on a longer trek than most of us can accomplish.

Lee has been on the road for 50 days and is on his way to Canada before ultimately ending up in Boston.

While going through downtown Lincoln, the rider met with Roger Matson and JoAnne Marlin and struck up a conversation with the two.

Matson exchanged email addresses with Lee and said he and Marlin enjoyed their visit with the young South Korean.

Marlin made sure Lee didn't leave Lincoln empty-handed. She gave him a small bronze bust of Abe Lincoln, a Christmas ornament showing the first courthouse with Abe standing in front of the building, and a book on Logan County and our heritage that was written by Paul Beaver and Paul Gleason from Main Street Lincoln.

Matson said Lee was very excited to get these and also had one of Matson's employees take a picture.

Matson said the traveler was looking for Internet service to check in and post his travels on his email address, [e-mail].

Lee then left for Bloomington.

Matson said he intends to keep in touch with the traveling student.
