In the first game, Shelbi Rentmeister (Clinton) picked up the win
for the Lynx, allowing only one hit and striking out nine. Her
record improves to 5-6. Blake Walch (Barry) had two doubles and
two RBIs, and Karla Shappell (Coal City) was 2-3 with two RBIs.
Casey Barretts (Clinton) contributed by hitting a triple in the
third inning.
The second game was even better for the Lynx. Jana Wright
(Fairfield) picked up her third win of the season and is now 3-7.
Christi Dixon (Decatur) was 2-2 with a double, triple and four
RBIs. Krystal Woodworth (Byron) was 1-2 with an RBI. Danielle
Stephenson (Campbell Hill) and Casey Barretts each hit a triple for
the Lynx.
"Our bats came alive," said LC coach Crystal Wurth. "We hit the
ball hard and it kept on rolling. The girls did a nice job of
running the bases and stretching hits into extra bases. Hopefully,
we can keep the momentum going."
The Lynx now have an overall record of 10-14.
LC travels to Ullin for a doubleheader against Shawnee Community
College this afternoon (Wednesday) at 2.
