In the first game, it was a matchup between two hard-throwing
left-handers. Luke Giddens, a transfer from University of
Cincinnati, was matched up against Parkland's Jon Carlson, a
transfer from University of Kentucky. The pitchers’ duel was closely
matched going into the fifth inning, but Carlson's command was too
much for the Lynx offense as they produced only one run on two hits.
In the second game, it was much the same. Lynx starter Steve
Sotiropoulos held the Cobras to only two runs in the first six
innings. But as in the first game, the Lynx were unable to
capitalize with runners in scoring position on several occurrences
throughout game two.
Lincoln (15-15, 11-3 MWAC) will host 11th-ranked Parkland on
Monday (today) at 1 p.m.
