About The Oasis

MISSION STATEMENT: To provide a place where senior citizens, as individuals or in groups, come together for services and activities which enhance their dignity, support independence and encourage their involvement in and with the community.

• The Oasis senior center serves the population of Logan County.

• We touch/interact with slightly over 7,000 seniors annually.

• We are a VITA income tax site processing FREE noncomplicated tax returns for seniors. The center helps over 500 individuals during this time of year.

• FREE ASSISTANCE with Illinois Cares Rx program, which helps seniors 65 and older with their drug premiums and copays. We have interacted by phone or appointment with over 5,000 seniors since Oct. 1, 2010 (approximately 10 months).

• FREE ASSISTANCE for Senior Health Insurance Program. Helps seniors with Medicare claims or other insurance information. Annually the center assists 500 seniors

• FREE LEGAL AID for seniors 60 and over. Lincoln Land Legal Foundation provides an attorney to help seniors with issues such as wills or even more complex issues. The center helps 480 individuals annually

• FREE ONLINE SOCIAL SECURITY ASSISTANCE. The center assists seniors with retirement, disability and other services.

• Numerous other programs for entertainment, socialization and mental exercises for seniors to remain active and involved in their community of Logan County.
