"The oil market is preoccupied with connecting the dots between downsized economic growth expectations and a reduction in oil demand forecasts across this year and next," energy analyst Ritterbusch and Associates said in a report. In other Nymex trading in September contracts, heating oil rose 2.3 cents to $2.96 a gallon while gasoline advanced 2.3 cents at $2.72 a gallon. Natural gas futures slid 2.1 cents at $3.91 per 1,000 cubic feet.
