City announces winners of art and balloon fest drawings

Tuesday evening, prior to the
committee-of-the-whole workshop meeting of the Lincoln City Council,
Mayor Keith Snyder, Alderman Jeff Hoinacki and Chief Mark Miller of
the Lincoln Fire Department drew the names of all the winners of
this year's Art & Balloon Festival giveaway from the city of
Lincoln.

Snyder
said there were 189 entries in the adult and children's
drawings combined. In the category of 12 years of age and under, 33
kids' names were entered, with four names drawn out as winners. In
the category of age 13 and up, 156 entries were submitted, and six
names were drawn. In the children's category, the prizes given to
each child are two admission wristbands for the airport, a collector
pin and a festival T-shirt. The winners are Kaylee Thomas, age 3,
Denver Nodine, 4, Emma VanFossan, 7, and Paige Raymond, 6.
In the category for 13 and up, there was one grand prize, one
first place, two second places and two third-place prize packages.
The grand prize consists of a free balloon ride on festival
weekend, two wristbands for the airport events, two collector pins
and a festival T-shirt. The winner is Amie Kenney of North College
Street.
The first prize consists of $100 in Art Bucks to be used at the
art festival, two wristbands for the airport events, two collector
pins and a festival T-shirt. The winner is Brett Slater of North
Jefferson Street.
The second prize consists of $50 in Art Bucks to be used at the
art festival, two wristbands for the airport events, two collector
pins and a festival T-shirt. The winners are Delores Hurley of
Delavan Street and Cindy Ayars of Ninth Street.

The third prize consists of two wristbands for the airport
events, one collector pin and a festival T-shirt. These final two
winners are Emile Lowe of Allison Street and Duane Moore, who lives
on Northgate in Mayfair addition.
Qualifications for the drawing included that the winners be a
residents of Lincoln and that the balloon ride winner needed to be
18 years of age or older.
