[August 23, 2011]  Lincoln Park District is hosting a running shoe clinic. Have you ever wondered what type of running shoe is best for you? Mitch Hobbs, owner of Often Running in Bloomington, will lead this casual but very informative event. Mitch will give each individual an evaluation of their stride and offer suggestions as to what type of shoe will most benefit their needs. He will even show what type of socks you should be running in. This free event is Thursday, Sept. 8, at 6:30 p.m. and will be on the indoor courts. Runners and walkers will be evaluated in the order they arrive.

Attention, all junior high students! Join the park district's Xbox 360 Split/Second tournament. They picked Saturday, Sept. 17, at 1 p.m. to start. Play against your friends to see who will have the best game. You will enjoy snacks, sodas and can plan on tons of fun. Cost is $3 per player and you may preregister at info@lincolnparkdistrict.com. The tournament will be limited to the first 14 gamers to register. This event is sponsored by Family Video and Little Caesars.

The park district is planning an awesome fall kickoff. Join the group on Saturday, Sept. 24, for an evening wiener roast and hayrack ride in Memorial Park. There will be time to play some fun lawn games, enjoy the company of others in our community, and who knows, maybe make a new friend or two. More information will be available closer to the date. A minimal fee will apply. This event will be very affordable.
