A part of the balloon events at
the annual Lincoln Art & Balloon Festival is the early
morning fly-in at the Logan County Airport.
Each balloonist has his own theory on how to best hit a target
from the air. Techniques that were used in this year's Saturday
morning competition included swinging the bag round and round by its
tail, then lobbing it toward the target, or passing over the target
and dropping the bag straight down. A few considered the best thing
to do was fly in as low to the ground as possible and deposit their
bag in the center of the target.
