[December 01, 2011]  SPRINGFIELD -- A number of historians will lead a discussion next week on the Bill O'Reilly and Martin Dugard book "Killing Lincoln." The panel discussion will be at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum on Dec. 7 at 7 p.m.

The discussion will be moderated by Patrick Reardon, author, former reporter for 32 years with the Chicago Tribune and former scholar in residence with the Newberry Library. The historians on the panel are James Cornelius, Lincoln curator at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum; Daniel Stowell, director and editor of The Papers of Abraham Lincoln; Ron Keller, assistant professor of history and political science at Lincoln College and director of the Lincoln Heritage Museum; and Matthew Holden, Wepner Distinguished Professor in Political Science at the University of Illinois at Springfield.

The public is invited to attend this free event, and audience questions and comments will be welcomed following the discussion by the historians. Those attending who want to read the book beforehand may obtain copies from many public libraries. The gift shop at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum also has copies of the book for sale.
